How It Works

WCB (WorkSafeBC) claims, handled for you.

Report your injury to your employer and to WorkSafeBC, and see your doctor if you have not already. When you book online or call 604 274 2692, share your WorkSafeBC claim number and date of injury, plus any job description or physical demands information you have. Your first visit is an assessment and a written treatment plan within the WorkSafeBC framework. Common Questions

WorkSafeBC treatment questions, answered.

What happens at my first visit for a workplace injury?

Your first visit is an assessment and a written treatment plan within the WorkSafeBC framework. Please bring your claim number and date of injury, plus any job description or physical demands information you have. Your practitioner asks how the injury happened and what your job involves, then plans treatment around those demands.

Which services can I use under a WorkSafeBC claim?

We bill WorkSafeBC directly for approved physiotherapy and active rehabilitation visits, including strength and conditioning matched to your job. Your plan is built around the physical demands of your work, such as lifting, bending, carrying or long periods of standing. Your practitioner will tell you what is approved on your claim.

How many visits does WorkSafeBC approve?

WorkSafeBC decides what is approved on your claim, and it varies by injury. Your practitioner follows the treatment plan and reviews your progress as you go. If you need more care than has been approved, they can discuss the next step with you and your case manager rather than leaving you guessing.

Who gets progress reports, and how often?

We send regular progress and discharge reports to WorkSafeBC and your employer, so everyone involved in your claim can follow how your recovery is going against your treatment plan. If you have questions about what is shared, ask your practitioner at any visit and they will go through it with you.

What if a visit is not approved?

We will let you know first. For approved visits we bill WorkSafeBC directly, so there is no user fee at the clinic. If a visit is not approved or your claim is closed, our standard rates apply, and we talk through your options with you before any visit goes ahead.

Can you help plan my return to work?

Yes. Rehab is graduated, so exercises build toward the tasks of your job, and we plan your return to work with your case manager. Your practitioner can share what you are able to do now, so duties can increase as you recover. Bring any job description you have to help guide the plan.

Direct billing, so you pay less at the desk.

We bill ICBC, WorkSafeBC, MSP and most extended health plans directly, including Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life and Green Shield. Bring your policy details to your first visit and we handle the rest. How direct billing works
