IASTM uses smooth-edged tools glided over the skin to detect and treat tight or thickened soft tissue. It helps with movement and can ease stubborn tension. Expect a lubricant on the skin and a scraping sensation, and mild skin redness can follow.
May also be offered within physiotherapy, depending on the practitioner.
